Moody enough for winter but with an injection of bright optimism for Spring - we love the balance of warm deepest red, from burgundy to rust and red wine, with cool sky blue.
Jessica Osbourne's Crinkle in Blue is on our mood board along with another gorgeous stripe from Studio Humbug - their Crimpled Stripe in Claret - so good and works just as well in a grown up dining room as it does in a playful larder or laundry room. And Rapture & Wright do sky blue so well with their colourway Flax Flower in the iconic Moorish Maze and Albaicin - cushions, wallpaper and fabric, or be bold and go for all three.
Then for paint - we are spoilt for choice with the smokey French Blue and warm sky George blue from Edward Bulmer and the reds from Farrow & Ball never disappoint - our currant fave being Incarnadine which in a gloss finish is just so chic and glamorous. Pick out a door or some woodwork, or paint the frame of a mirror - the unexpected red theory really does work.
