The cabin bed - a dreamy nook for child to hide and play in, or a cosy corner for a grown up to curl up with a good book before a stolen snooze. I've got one on my renovation moodboard for the eves in the loft. In the meantime here are some of our favourites, and better still, you go and sleep in two of them.
The Gypsy Red at the Cyder House is a dormitory-style bedroom with four hand-painted cabin beds inspired by traditional gypsy wagons and with artwork by the brillaint Tess Newall. The Cyder House is on the Frampton Court Estate on the edge of the Cotswolds and sleeps 16 - a magical spot for a gathering of friends or family.
Then there is the somewhat iconic Welsh cottage bolt hole with its rust red cabin beds tucked away at the top of the Little Mill in Abergavenny. I can vouch for the cosyness of these ones as we stayed there this February half term and it was everything the pictures promise you and more. The more mostly being how increadably warm it was - to be in an ancient Welsh cottage and so snug with the a fire, great bath, excelent shower and the softest beds with the heaviest blankets was a bit of a dream set up - and that was before the children had squirelled themselves away behind the curtians in the cabin beds.
