Along with the downstairs loo a child’s room is without doubt the most fun space to design. It's an opportunity for a playful combination of colour and pattern in paint and wallpaper with whimsical details from fabrics, artwork and vintage finds.
We are so excited to now have the brilliant brand, Ottoline, in our edit of fabrics and wallpapers. Her Improvisation is pretty much everything you look for in a playful paper. One of the things we love about it is the way that you can pick from the colours in the pattern to find your accents for woodwork and then just how different this can make the space - take Improvisation in Pink and pair with woodwork in sky blue and you would have a really different look to if you chose a pale pink.
In a different world of joy are the whimsical prints from CommonRoom - we love Curious Creatures on its dusky pink background - don't forget to look out for the unicorn hiding among the mythical creatures. Their Ribbons is such a great stripe - painterly and two tone and works brilliantly in a lively playroom.
