Pierrot Doremus

French glassmaker Pierrot Doremus founded the Gramat glassworks in 2019, nestled in the Quercy region of France, between Brive-la-Gaillarde and Cahors. Driven by a desire to refine his crystal-making expertise, Doremus established his own workshop to focus on his signature style and master the celebrated Murano filigree technique.

Originating in the Renaissance, this intricate method involves intertwining long, colourful glass rods, wrapping them around a glass cylinder, and then blowing and shaping the glass into unique forms. The practice of filigree is central to the Gramat workshop’s identity, adding a distinctive touch—especially through its vibrant, multicoloured themes.

The work produced at Gramat takes many forms, including tableware, vases, lighting, and one-of-a-kind creations, all reflecting a blend of tradition, innovation, and artistic flair.
